Bundy’s biggest beach yoga class in 2016

More than 80 yogis attempt to form the longest Warrior pose chain as they take their zen to Moore Park Beach in Bundy’s Biggest Beach Yoga Session.

More than 80 yogis attempt to form the longest Warrior pose chain as they take their zen to Moore Park Beach in Bundy’s Biggest Beach Yoga Session.

As the fresh spring sunshine shon over the somewhat secluded beach of Moore Park, Queensland, yoga enthusiasts came together to create history this month.

More than 80 eager yogis, from beginner to advanced level, lined up along the foreshore in an attempt to form the longest yoga chain, simultaneously striking Virabhadrasana III (Warrior III Pose). Leading the charge was respected Bundaberg-based yoga instructor, Carmen Lee-Schneider.

Under the guidance of Mrs Lee-Schneider, participants moved through a gentle morning Vinyasa flow sequence, stretching and feeding off each other’s energy while immersing themselves in the fresh air as the rhythmic sound of waves gently caressed the shore.

Mrs Lee-Schneider, who has been practicing yoga for a decade, explained that she simply wanted to share her passion with the group to encourage people from all walks of life to come together as one.

“It’s wonderful how yoga can bring people together,” the experienced yoga instructor said.

“This event was to show that yoga is for everyone and the beautiful energy can only created by a group of people, not just by myself.

“Seeing people breath and move together in the group – that created the beautiful energy.”

“I just want to share that energy to as many people as possible.”

Mrs Lee-Schneider, who is the founder of Bundaberg’s growing premier yoga studio, Love Life Live Yoga, said she was overwhelmed by the number of people who participated in the event over the weekend.

“It was truly awe-inspiring to see so many people coming together from all corners of the region to share their yoga practice with partners, children and friends – old and new,” she said.

“It’s been wonderful to hear the people have been counting down for this event.

“I love people and I love yoga… I love providing hope and goals for people to aspire to.”

This was the second event the former fashion designer come yoga instructor has hosted in the Bundaberg region, with last year’s drawing 50 yogis to Bargara’s popular Neilson Park.

Due to the event’s rising popularity, Yogis can look forward to more yoga community gatherings throughout the region.
